How a Good Diabetic Diet Can Help – A Story of Hope

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This is a revised article. The information obtained in this article was from data collected from 8/6-8/19. Hope’s Story – Issue’s of a Typical Diabetic

One of Pondera’s customers, Hope Cavallo, was having serious complications due to her diabetic state, along with her struggles of obesity. Her battle with obesity had her at 310 lbs, and she is only 5’4”. She was put on heavy diabetic medication, and was taking a drug called Metformin twice a day at 1000mg in the morning and another 1000mg at night. 1000mg is only 1/5 of a teaspoon, which seems like a very small amount, but can pack a powerful punch.

Improving Hopes Diabetic Diet

Due to being overweight, along with the complications of being a severe diabetic, Hope was told that she needed to lose weight immediately and that surgery was a must, therefore, would have to endure a gastric bypass surgery.  The surgery took off 140 lbs and brought her weight down to 170 lbs. The great news was that a lot of the weight had been taken away, but unfortunately her diabetes remained severe and she had to stay on her diabetic medicated dosage regimen.

After some time passed and she had recovered from her surgery, Hope was still feeling drained and was often very tired, most likely from her medicine dosage. She didn’t want to do anything. She hurt all over and was sore all over. But, Pondera Wellness would soon help change her life around.

The recordings just below this paragraph is an average of Hope’s blood sugar readings, and how and when she conducted her readings, and also the meal plan she followed:

  • 4am, Hope takes a fingertip glucometer test of her fasting blood sugar reading first thing in the morning because she has had no food, her reading is 120.
  • 4am, right after her test she takes 2 scoops of Pondera Wellness, no medication.
  • 6am, she checks her blood sugar again and reports a drop in blood sugar, her reading is 110.
  • 8am, she has breakfast which consists of egg whites and pinto beans.
  • 11am, she checks her blood sugar again, her reading is 130.
  • 11am, she takes 2 more scoops of Pondera Wellness, no medication.
  • 4pm, she checks her blood sugar and it again has dropped, her reading is 120 and it is her last reading of the day.
  • 5pm, she has a dinner with chicken, salad and vegetables. This is her last meal of the day, and she will start this process over again on the next day.

Please note, Hope did not eat from 11am until 5pm after having her second serving of Pondera Wellness because the serving of Pondera Wellness helped reduce her hunger cravings, and helped her keep her blood sugar levels balanced.

As far as the readings, we saw her blood sugar levels go down after taking Pondera Wellness, while being able to help manage her blood sugar levels without any diabetic medication, as she was only taking Pondera Wellness.
